Our Approach
To keep furniture and accessories as close to their authentic state as possible. Work is completed to manufacturer specifications using original components or equivalent. In the artisan tradition, we manufacture components when no viable equivalent is available.
In our experience, natural timber finishes are equal in performance, are easier to maintain, and aesthetically superior in comparison to polyurethane and other plastic film finishes.
We prioritise environmental consideration over convenience, using techniques and ingredients that are more eco-friendly in various aspects. This includes their application in the workshop, their use in interiors, and their by-products from wear and tear to end-of-life. Our approach significantly reduces exposure to Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other hazardous chemicals, as well as minimises the contribution to micro/nanoplastics from weathering and oxidation.
The same approach is taken with cleaning and stripping old finishes, using environmentally benign, friendly-to-material products with the addition of extra "elbow grease" where needed.
